The type of website you will need, will largely depend upon your requirements.
We offer Small Business Websites, which are ideal standard-type websites for any small to medium sized businesses, as diverse as dog-walking fields, driving schools, fish & chip shops, funeral celebrants, or any business that doesn’t require complex functionality (aka brochure sites). These websites are also ideal for all Trades such as plumbers, electricians, tree surgeons etc., plus sole-traders and start-ups, and will contain everything you need to promote your services, and convert to quality leads and increased revenue, whilst being cost-effective, with our easy pay-monthly option. You can purchase a Small Business Website and start the ball rolling online, or contact us if you require assistance/have any queries.
We also offer Bespoke Websites which can include personalised graphics, bespoke functionality, more extensive imagery, a more complex design and longer pages – ideal for any size of business looking to market themselves to increase leads and ultimately, revenue. Shopify Websites are for businesses who are looking to sell products directly via an online shop. With our expertise in optimising your website and product descriptions from the ground up, we will help your site to be more visible to both regular and new customers on search engines and in AI search, therefore, increasing your sales prospects. Question 2

How much will a new website cost?

Accepted Answer

A Small Business Website starts from as little as £58.85 + VAT per month, with a small deposit, when you pay monthly, or £1,495 + VAT when you pay the full amount. The specific figure will depend on your requirements, such as the number of service pages, or any additional pages over and above what's included. When you add your requirements to your online order, the price will adjust accordingly.
We recognise that cashflow can be a significant factor for small-to-medium-sized businesses, which is why you can spread your Small Business Website payments over 6, 12, or even 24 months. We aim to make it as easy as possible for businesses to get online and make their mark.
Please keep in mind that this figure doesn’t include your Monthly Website Care Package, which is an ongoing requirement for your hosting, support and maintenance (with a minimum term of 24 months). You have the option of paying the package monthly at £39 + VAT, or in one lump sum.
The cost of a Shopify or Bespoke Website varies significantly depending on your specific business requirements. To better understand your needs, we would like to gather a bit more information from you. If you’re interested in a bespoke or Shopify website design for your business in the UK, please feel free to book a call with us. Simply fill in your contact details and indicate your preference for a phone call, Zoom meeting, or face-to-face appointment. You can then schedule a half-hour appointment to discuss your website requirements.
Bespoke & Shopify Websites are generally payable with a 50% deposit upfront, and 50% on completion. Payment options may be available - this can be discussed on an individual basis.
Following our call or meeting, we will promptly prepare and send you a customised quote for your website. This quote will outline the necessary Functionality and Service Pages, along with any additional services you may choose, such as Logo & Graphic Design, PPC, or SEO.

How long will it take to build?

We always aim to build your Small Business Website, Bespoke Website or Shopify Website as quickly as possible. The specific time frame will naturally vary, depending on the number of pages you need, the functionality you require, and our current schedule. We’ll also ask you to send us some information (and images if you have them) by a specific date, regarding the services your company offers, or the products you are selling. Our Content Executives will need to use this information when writing the copy for your website. Quality is important to us, which is why we never rush any of our clients’ websites – our goal is to get it right the first time. Once you have committed to having a website built, we will book in the dates and liaise with you to ensure they fit in with your plans. We promise to keep you informed on the expected timeline and key dates throughout the process.

Question 4

What will you need from me?

Accepted Answer

In order to build your website, we’ll need information about your company, the services you provide, your target audience and your target location(s). Our Content Executives (Copywriters) will use this information to create authentic content that truly represents your business, and helps generate leads/sales. We will also need the URL's for your company Social Media, so we can link from your website. To allow us to complete competitor research, we will ask you to name your top 3 competitors.
We’ll send you user-friendly forms to complete via Content Snare, an easy-to-use online software that not only allows us to collate the information we require, but also allows you to ask questions and/or post comments about anything you’re unsure of. This way, we can stay in touch throughout the process and make sure no questions remain unanswered. Ideally, we would like you to send us your own original images, as this is much better, both in Google's eyes, and for making your site unique to you. We can of course, source quality stock photos which we have the licence to use (and therefore are copyright-free) either to fill in any gaps, or for the entire site as a last resort.

Can I use my existing logo & domain?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can use your own logo for your Small Business, Bespoke or Shopify Website, provided it’s in a web-compatible format (.png or .svg, .ai or .eps). If you decide to keep your logo, we’ll design your website around your logo colours, making sure everything matches your brand identity. If you’re unsure about using your current logo, or if you’d like to take your business in a different direction, we also offer Professional Logo Services.
You can also use your existing domain. This is a good choice if it’s strongly associated with your brand, has been around for a while, and has a strong Domain Authority. We can discuss the options and help you decide whether it’s best keep your existing domain or not, during our kick-off meeting. If you decide to change it, we’ll provide you with a new, SEO-friendly domain and one professional, domain-based email. We can point your old domain to your new one, in case a user tries to use your old one, and we can also redirect emails sent to your new email address, to your existing one if you prefer to keep it going.

Question 6

How long will my new website take to rank on Google?

Accepted Answer

As a general rule, it takes at least six months to see decent results in your new website’s ranking on Google. It can be quicker, it can be longer. However, the exact timeframe can vary based on several factors, including the time and effort you invest in your SEO.
The time it takes for websites to rank on Google depends on the following:

Local Competition: The level of competition for other businesses in your area.
Your Domain: The age and authority of your domain and its relevance to your services and location.
Website Quality: Don’t worry – that’s why we’re here!
Your Overall Online Presence: This includes your business listings, customer reviews, social media activity, and more.

Question 7

Will I own the website? What if I want to transfer it away?

Accepted Answer

You will own your website immediately if you pay in full, but with the pay monthly option, you will not own it until after your payment period ends.
Please bear in mind that if you do leave, you own the website files, but you may need to purchase new software licences for the specific themes and plugins used to ensure full site functionality. You will also be charged a fee for us to package up and transfer the site.
In the unlikely event that you choose to leave us before the initial 24-month period, you will still need to pay for the remainder of the compulsory “Monthly Website Care Package.”

Will I be able to update the website myself? What aftersales support do you offer?

Accepted Answer

For a Small Business Website, you will not have access to the back end of your website.There are 2 important reasons for this:1. Most business owners are way too busy to do this themselves, and prefer to focus on running their business.2. From experience, when a non Web Developer edits a website, it can often lead to things breaking, going out of alignment, and very importantly, SEO can be negatively impacted. For example, when our team upload new images or videos, they name the file for SEO, resize, compress and where relevant, they geotag the file to the appropriate location.
For Shopify Websites, please see No's 1 & 2 above, however, you will have access to the back-end to update and run the shop, eg. pricing and products.
For Bespoke Websites, please see No's 1 & 2 above. However, if you really need access to the back-end for a specific reason, please let us know during the sales process, and we can discuss options. We can arrange CMS training, however there will be limits, eg. if any work is completed 'outside' of procedures you have been trained on, or by persons other that those who have been trained, thus breaking the site or causing issues, you will be liable for any costs incurred to repair the damage.
For all types of websites, as part of your 'Monthly Website Care Package', (also known as Website Hosting, Support & Maintenance) our team will carry out unlimited minor website copy and image updates for you, so you don’t need to worry about learning how to update your information or images – we’ve got it covered! All you need to do is send an email to support@wdseo.co.uk. This will send your request to our Support Desk which is checked every morning, with tasks allocated for the next available support slot. Obviously, if you need urgent support, eg. if your site is down or contact forms won't send, then please call us on 01752 291865 and we will get one of the team on the case!
The Monthly Website Care Package costs £39 + VAT per month, with a minimum term of 24 months. This includes Quality Hosting, Unlimited Minor Content Edits* and UK-based Support, Daily Backups, SSL Certificate & Security Monitoring, & Website Maintenance (including regular checks and actioning of any Google Search Console issues) and continues on a monthly basis. 
*Please note: unlimited minor content updates excludes structural website changes, new pages or page sections, or new functionality. If you need any of these, they can be added at any time. Please just request a quote.

Question 9

If the website is SEO-optimised, why will I need monthly SEO?

Accepted Answer

Our Content Executives and SEO Specialists will conduct extensive keyword and competitor research when we work on your website, ensuring it’s as well SEO and AI-search-optimised as possible when it goes live. When your website is built, the Developers will also optimise your images.
However, a stagnant website that doesn’t have regular, fresh content added, and has no associated off-site SEO work carried out, is unlikely to rank well in the long term. This means your online presence will ultimately diminish, resulting in loss of business.
Fresh, valuable, keyword-rich content (a key aspect of on-site SEO) is one of the main Google ranking factors, as is the gradual accumulation of quality backlinks (a key aspect of off-site SEO). The addition of Geopages are a must for any business, to enable it to show up in search results in multiple areas. This is why we recommend ongoing SEO, especially for companies in highly competitive niches and industries, which is pretty much everyone.

How much does your SEO service cost?

As a rule of thumb, our standard Monthly SEO Packages cost £375 + VAT.
If you are a New Website Client, we will discuss your SEO needs and pricing with you as part of your project.
If we are going to provide SEO for your Existing Website, we will provide a personalised price once we have carried out your Free SEO & Website Review.

Question 11

Can I stop & start SEO?

In short, it is possible to physically stop/start SEO. However, we strongly recommend against it, if you wish to remain visible in the top results, and either rise above, or keep your business above your competitors.
Since the majority of competitors will consistently invest in their strategies, and search engine algorithms are always being updated, SEO must be viewed as an ongoing commitment, not a one-off project. It's crucial to implement high-quality, regular content updates and continuous optimisation to preserve your search rankings and attract valuable organic traffic. Failure to prioritise this will mean you risk dropping in rankings and visibility and therefore, miss out on potential customers.
Not limited to search engine rankings and AI search, SEO is also an invaluable tool for businesses who operate in many locations, or those who wish to sell online, UK-wide. Geopages are an essential part of the process, and play a key part in successfully getting your business seen in a wider geographical area.
Remember, if you’re not taking SEO, there will always be competitors who are!
